Wedding Wednesday

Hey look, it's Wedding Wednesday again! I had to do this Wedding Wednesday so soon after the last one because something has happened, not once, but twice now. Two recent celebrity brides wore black wedding dresses. It's one thing to rock a pink wedding dress like Jessica Biel (which really was stunning and a trend that does seem to be coming back in small doses) but black? The first celebrity to do pull this off was Shenae Grimes (of 90210 fame). I must admit, when I saw her dress I was not in love with it but I definitely didn't hate it either! I think that's because it wasn't an ALL black dress. I also tend to give celebrities a break on things like this because they tend to be a bit more "artistic" or "quirky" than the rest of us. But when I saw the second bride in black, Avril Lavigne, I was not impressed. A solid black gown with black roses... nope, not for me. I found it too dark and heavy when I think of weddings as light and romantic.

I have NO idea if this will be a trend, but I kind of hope not. Again, I'm okay with breaking tradition to create something unique and personal, but this might be too much - at least to the extent Avril went. What do you think of these brides?

Wedding Wednesday!

Okay, so Wedding Wednesday isn't actually a "thing" per say but it's Wednesday and I'm gonna talk about weddings today! Celebrity weddings to be exact. I think we are officially in wedding season, not only because my Facebook feed has been taken over by photos of weddings but also because my celebrity gossip has been filled with weddings too! As I've said before I love reading about celebrity weddings. They can be the most extravagant, but also can be the most unique. Celebrity or not one of my most favourite parts is the dress (as previously mentioned with Jessica Biel and Blake Lively). Well as it turns out, another one of my style icons recently got hitched a few weeks ago - Kristin Cavallari! 

 I don't know about you but I think their wedding portrait is adorable! She looks lovely (my fave thing is hair out) and they look very much in love. Also, she announced that she was married by posting the above picture of the wedding bands on her Instragram and Twitter. Gorgeous wedding band for her and I actually really love his! Different but very masculine. 


A couple of other weddings happened as well in the last couple of months, the first being Keira Knightly. Her wedding was TOTALLY the opposite of what I would expect of a celebrity. It was super low key. The ceremony happened in a church followed by a reception in her moms backyard. Her dress was Chanel, but was actually a cocktail dress that she had previously worn at another event a couple years prior! I guess that's her "something old". She paired it with a jacket and flats (yes, flats) designed for her by Karl Lagerfeld (who attended the wedding). Although very nontraditional I also love this. Definitely not for me personally, but I think it it fun and is true to her and her personality (it must be). The other wedding was Breaking Bad star Aaron Paul to his longtime love Lauren Parkesian. I honestly can't get enough of this couple. They are so cute and so in love - they speak so highly of each other, they act like best friends and look like they are madly in love. That to me is what it's all about. Their wedding was definitely more of an event - carnival themed in fact! I thought Lauren looked gorgeous. Again with the hair out! Love it.

Celebrity Wedding Tease

I don't know about you but I love all things weddings! This goes from real life weddings, to wedding TV shows (Four Weddings, Say Yes to the Dress, etc.), celebrity weddings and so on. A big element of every wedding is of course the dress. I love looking at what the bride is wearing. This is one of the reasons I get especially excited about celebrity weddings - it's no secret I love going through celebrity fashion, so naturally checking out their wedding attire is like Christmas to me. Celebrity dresses can be the most extravagant and unique!

Way back when Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel got married I mentioned that one wedding I was dying to get a glimpse into was that of Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds. I think they are adorable and I love her style so I knew it would likely be incredible.

Well I think the time has finally come to come to terms with the fact that we (me) will never get to see what it was all about. Shortly after their wedding the 2 pictures above were released by Martha Stewart Weddings who helped coordinate and design it all - but being the private people they are, I think that might be all we get (hence the post title "Celebrity Wedding Tease"). I thought the pictures were lovely though so I wanted to share. 

Next up in celebrity weddings I am looking forward to seeing Jennifer Aniston tie the knot again. She looked so stunning when she married Brad Pitt, and her style has only evolved since so I have no doubt she will look beautiful. I also wouldn't mind seeing Angelina Jolie... but more out of curiosity.

P.S. I'd like to credit my mom with my wedding fascination. My parents got married when I was 7 years old so most of my childhood I was exposed to wedding planning. She had a wedding binder, and as her mini-me I got to have my own wedding duo-tang, haha! It was pretty cute. I also got to be the maiden of honour at their wedding! :) 

Wedding Bells! Justin & Jessica

In case you didn't hear, Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel got married in Italy this past weekend! Lucky for us, they've shared some pictures with the media so we don't have to guess about what they wore and what their wedding details are. I love weddings in general and am always curious about celebrity weddings. I am still wondering about Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds' wedding... 

But back to Justin and Jessica - the first picture released online (for more pictures you have to go buy People or Hello) shows a very excited Justin Timberlake and a beautiful Jessica Biel in a pink Giambattista Valli Haute Couture gown. Pink! I remember when I was a kid, I would dream of a pink wedding gown. Is it coming back? Or is it just an ode to their unique style. Either way, I think this picture is adorable. I bet it was quite the celebration!

Although it took me a little time, I decided I love the look. I don't think I'd do it myself (I'd want something more classic) but I love it. How about you? Too much? Too... pink? :)
