I'm SURE I've probably posted a quote about laughter before and I am SURE I will probably post a quote about laughter in the future, but I truly believe that laughter is one of the best and most important things ever. And love, well love speaks for itself. I saw this quote and thought it was absolutely perfect and absolutely true to life. Love and laughter, to me is perfection.

SATC Anniversary
Last week was the 15th Anniversary of Sex and the City. Man, what a show! It changed, reassured and empowered so many women. The show itself was a real, raw, fashionable, beautiful celebration of women. Since it's finale we've never seen anything quite like it, and I'm not sure we ever will. Personally, I'm okay with that. I don't seem to ever get sick of watching old episodes! In honour of the anniversary (and in the spirit of "better late than never") here is a favourite quote of mine from show which was spoken in the final episode...

Mom's are the best!

Me and my mom last Mother's Day |
This Sunday is Mother's Day so I wanted to wish all the moms a happy Mother's Day before the weekend begins. Aren't moms just the best?! I am such a lucky girl to have a wonderful loving mother who I am close with. We have always been super close.
I know everyone says their mom is the best, but I just wanted to let you know mine actually is! :)

Valentine's Day!
Happy day of love everyone! As cheesy as it is I really like Valentine's Day and the idea behind it. Not the Hallmark-made-a-holiday part of it, but rather taking a day to celebrate love. I've never been one to celebrate Valentine's Day with a significant other, but let me tell you, as a single girl it's almost as though I feel like I have a duty to celebrate it! For good "love" karma maybe? :)

Be in love with your life!
In the spirit of the New Year (my theme for this week so far if you couldn't tell...) here's something to follow! A resolution perhaps? It's your life and it's precious, why NOT be in LOVE with it? :)

Love Actually
EVERY SINGLE CHRISTMAS SEASON this is a must watch for me! Definitely one of my favourite movies of all time, this film just warms my heart and gets me in the holiday spirit like nothing else.
I just watched it with my cousin and there were so many times we were saying "oh, this part is so good!", or even got emotional! (That's my M.O. by the way - I'm a weeper!) Since the movie takes place while counting down to Christmas, it's hard not to let the Christmas spirit take you over. It's also such a powerful movie when it comes to love. Isn't love the best?! So many stars in it too. I just can't get enough of it. I'm pretty sure I smile from start to end, haha!
With the negative things going on in the world/on the news as of late, the opening dialogue in the movie is something worth sharing and keeping in mind: "Whenever I get gloomy with the state of the world, I think about the arrivals gate at Heathrow Airport. General opinion's starting to make out that we live in a world of hatred and greed, but I don't see that. It seems to me that love is everywhere. Often, it's not particularly dignified or newsworthy, but it's always there - fathers and sons, mothers and daughters, husbands and wives, boyfriends, girlfriends, old friends. When the planes hit the Twin Towers, as far as I know, none of the phone calls from the people on board were messages of hate or revenge - they were all messages of love. If you look for it, I've got a sneaking suspicion... love actually is all around."
Chances are you have seen this movie, BUT if you have not, I recommend you drop everything you're doing right now and watch it immediately. You will not regret it.

November loves of my life...
As this month comes to an end, in reflecting on it, I realized that I fell in love this month - twice. With inanimate objects, but let me tell you about them...

First, while in New Orleans I passed a store window and spotted a pair of leopard booties. I was looking at them, they were looking at me, and that was it. Love. I have loved the look of leopard booties for a while, but as with most animal print, I find it very hard to find the right look. You don't want a discoloured, or inexpensive looking print/fabric (which is why I barely buy animal prints - I'm VERY picky). Then comes the shoe itself. Must be comfortable, versatile and beautiful! These booties fit all the criteria for me. They also looked looked an awful lot like a pair of House of Harlow boots I had been admiring from a distance for months, but with out the super extravagant price tag. Since bringing them home, I've worn them and handful of times and am also going to put them up in the ranks of one of the most comfortable pair of shoes I own. What a bonus!
My second love was more of a splurge. It's a Rebecca Minkoff purse. Enough said? Probably, but I will go on. These bags are one of my favourite lines of high-end designer bags. I fell in love with the Mac line and finally got one to call my very own! They're all great but I got drawn to this particular one because it was the most beautiful colour of vibrant purple, and is patent leather, which is not for her designs. When I got it I was more in love with it than I thought. It's just got the nicest detailing and it the perfect colour. Just love. Totally worth it!
Have a great weekend and enjoy this last day of November! Can you believe tomorrow is December already?!?!

Horoscopes on Zodiac Chic
I am not one to necessarily believe in astrology or horoscopes, but from time to time I like to check them out and see what's being said about my sign and whether or not it rings true. I find horoscopes and zodiac facts to be more for entertainment than anything. Recently I found a Tumblr page dedicated horoscopes called Zodiac Chic. Their Zodiac Facts are definitely fluffy at times, but that's part of the fun. A couple of posts about Aquarius (my sign) caught my eye and I really felt like they rang true! Now from time to time I check it out, or browse through past ones to see what has been said about Aquarius. Here are a few of my faves:
Do you ever read horoscopes or do you believe in them? To see your sign, click a link below:
110. Absolutely. | 71. Quite true
111. Who doesn't?! | 114. Hilarious but not wrong

Your Heart is Another Story
If you haven't seen the movie Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, I recommend you do. It is a very strange but very beautiful movie. I think this quote is beautiful (and true).

Cozy Sweaters
One of my favourite parts of fall is how cozy it is - out of necessity! With the chilly air brings tall boots and over-sized cozy sweaters. While browsing on Pinterest (surprise surprise), I came across these two pins that made me feel the joy of fall... and love maybe.
The first pin is a quote from a Lana Del Rey song and the second is, to me, the epitome of a cozy looking sweater. The part that makes me think of love is that if you find someone, who makes you feel like that sweater makes you feel (or better), he's a keeper because that sweater looks awesome! :)

A Beautiful Thing...
Kellie Pickler. I know her as the cute country singer who started on American Idol and carried on to be successful in her own right. I also think she is just as sweet as can be after seeing her interviewed on Ellen. Right now, she might be my favourite celebrity, and one of my favourtie people in general.
On Wednesday I saw an article about Kellie Pickler shaving her head - shaving her long blonde gorgeous locks - in support of her best friend who is battling cancer. I found this story, or rather this act, to be extremely powerful. Very moving.
That is friendship. That is love.
Her friend, Summer Holt Miller, (who is 36 and was diagnosed in June) said, “If this compels even one person to change their mentality toward waiting until the age of 40 for their mammogram, then it will be worth it.”
I hope this story makes you smile, makes you think, and makes you not take a single thing for granted.
